Saddlebrook Solar is a 100 MW utility-scale project located south of Aldersyde, Alberta, built across more than 186,000 modules on a fixed tilt racking system.
Western Solar’s scope covered racking and module installation, plus entering every installed module into a centralized database for O&M tracking after handoff.
That last piece matters as much as the physical build. A site this size needs to be trackable module by module once it’s live, and getting that data structured correctly during installation saves time for whoever runs O&M after Western Solar moves on. Phase 2 of the project will add a 40 MWh energy storage facility, building on the work done in this phase.
Saddlebrook is one of the larger sites in Western Solar’s utility-scale portfolio, and a good example of what full-scope field execution looks like at this size: organized crews, repeatable installation quality, and documentation built to hold up long after handoff. It’s part of a track record that spans over 1000 MW and 100+ projects, from 5 MW farm-scale systems up to sites like this one.
